February 2015

February 2015

So much has occurred in February.  This post will cover most of the month, up until the birth of our new baby.

We've broken ground!  It brings me so much joy to watch our new home being built from the ground up.  We were able to choose our lot, structural options that went into the home, finishing touches, etc.  If money grew on trees, then maybe we would have put more into the house, but I still think it's perfect.  Here's a look at the beginning stages.

This is where they will put the gates to our neighborhood.  I love where we're located.  Our community is a little secluded and has some hills that surround us.

This will be a little park/green space.

This is our lot.  We like that we're on a corner so our lot is wider than most.

Our back wall is kind of unique.  They're boulders stacked high.  It looks a little scary, but they're secure.  :)

This is the tile we chose.  I love that they're large 24" by 24" tiles.

Branson's rank advancement
Branson graduated from Wolf to Bear in the Cub Scout program.  He's worked hard and enjoyed it.  (We have more pictures, but I can't find them.  I'll have to add them later.)

Tamzyn's Baby Shower
My sweet mother-in-law and sister-in-law gave me a baby shower for the littlest Reeve.  Holly Steed, easily one of my very closest friends, hosted it at her home.  I'm lucky to associate with such wonderful women.  We believe that every baby deserves to be celebrated - even if she is daughter #4 and we already have plenty of hand-me-downs.

The shower was actually called a "sprinkle" because our guests were asked to only bring diapers or wipes.  We certainly received enough wipes to last a year!  The shower was perfect and I'm so grateful that my friends and family could celebrate Tamzyn.

I love chocolate.

It was so fun to find out that a friend of mine was due on the same day!!  Each week we would see each other at church and check in on how our pregnancies were going.  It was her first pregnancy and my last.  We ended up having our daughters the very same week.  :)

Thank you for such a sweet "sprinkle" for Tamzyn!  My family and friends are the best.

The kids really wanted me to take a picture of this resident toad on our front walkway.  We thought he was cute.  I can't help but wonder if it's the same one I fished out of our pool skimmer basket last year...

Annika's 4th birthday

My baby is 4 and I just can't believe it.  She's such a little peanut.  Her voice is so tiny and baby-like that sometimes we refer to her as a little chipmunk.  Sometimes it's hard to believe she's already 4, yet at other times I think she might be going on 14!   Despite being so little, she sure can act grown-up.  Carrying on a conversation with her can be such a laugh.  For such a little thing, she's got a big personality and a sense of humor to match!  When I think of Annika I think of a hopping, jumping, snuggling, singing, skipping, smiling, darling little ball of cute.   That girl oozes cuteness!   Here's some of the cute things she's said over the past few months.

Annika:  It's annoying.
Mom: What?
Annika: Natalya.

Mom: How come you're naked?
Annika:  I love naked.

Mom: What do you want for breakfast?
Annika: Whipped cream.

Mom: What are you doing?
Annika: Um, I'm looking fabulous.  For my prince.

 Birthday morning...

It's just not a birthday with streamers and balloons.

I'm so glad she wanted a My Little Pony birthday this year, because  our big girls had a lot of birthday supplies to hand down to Annika!  I'm sure Tamzyn will enjoy a My Little Pony birthday party too one day.

The look of shear joy on her face is because of her new Elsa dress.

4 dollars from GG!  Thank you GG!!

And a My Little Pony Rainbow Dash jacket from Grandma.  Love! Now she races around the house pretending to fly.  Yes, the jacket even has wings, ha!

Ready to party with the Taylor cousins and the Steed family (practically cousins!) and even Nana too.

Complete with a piƱata!
I hope Annika had as much fun as I did, because I had a pretty good time.  Love you chickie-pie.  Try not to grow too fast.

We couldn't have Nana here without a trip to the spa for pedicures!

Annika loves the car wash.  I don't ever want to forget the look of pure glee on her animated little face.

Annika helped me assemble our new baby swing!  We can't wait for this baby to arrive.

She even shaped our family in floam (kind of like play-doh).  Unprompted, she sculpted Tamzyn, Annika, Irelynn, Branson, Natalya, Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandaddy.

From my sweet niece, Ashlynn.  She wrote, "to Aunt Kristal I hoPe You have A wonderful BaBey.  I love you!!! love Ashlynn".
That girl warms my heart!!  Thank you, Ashlynn, for such a thoughtful card.  I love you too sweetheart.

Valentine's Day Daddy Daughter Dance
It's time again for the Daddy Daughter Dance at their school, Somerset Academy Sky Pointe.  The girls got all dressed up and waited for dad to get home from work.  They loved curling their hair and getting a touch of mascara and lip gloss.

Lookin' good in blue!
They had a blast at the dance then Daddy took them out for In n Out Burger afterwords.  Lucky!

Kathy really spoiled us while she was in town!  On top of many other things, she even treated us to The Melting Pot for a special Valentine's Day dinner.  It was absolutely delicious.  The company was just as good.  Thank you!!

We rarely eat out, so I surprised myself when I treated Annika to an impromptu lunch at Taco Bell.  I realized that once this sweet baby arrives, I won't have the same one-on-one time with Annika so it was needed.
Tacos and root beer.  She was in love.

We worked hard on Branson's puppet show for Mrs. Stout's 3rd grade book report on a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book.  He even performed his show for the class.  I told him that we can't keep every cool project, so we opted to take a picture of it instead.

Annika and Rachel painting virtual nails.  They're two peas in a pod.

The car seat is washed and installed!  Tamzyn, please come.

My husband and I write notes to one another on a little chalkboard almost every day.  I was having a particularly difficult day being pregnant and feeling quite miserable, then I turned the corner to find this note that brought me to tears.  Thank you, Brian, for being in tune with me.  You're just what I need.

Natalya at another blood draw.  This girl is tough.  I'm so proud of her.
It won't be long before we get you on the right treatment plan, baby girl!

February 21, 2015
Irelynn earned a date with mom!  I love taking my kids on dates.  This one was exceptionally fun because we went to the salon for manicures!
We got all dressed up, make up on, and even brought a pet.

Then we went to get ice cream afterwards.  Perfect date for an amazing daughter!  You earned it babe!  I love you Irelynn!!

37 weeks, 6 days
This is my last pregnancy picture before the birth of our last little Reeve!  We're anxious for her to arrive.  We love her so much already.  Please come sweet Tamzyn.
