Playing Catch Up - JUNE 14th-19th 2011

Hodge Podge
So much can happen in just a few days.  In effort to keep up with our family journal, I thought I'd post a few random pictures of everyday life.

June 14th
Annika loves table food! Here she is trying her first banana. The kids were cracking up at watching her force my hand closer to her mouth. So we had to try an apple slice next...

She sucked on it for at least 5 minutes.

June 15th
She is such a happy baby. And this outfit screams Sunshine!

Annika is our little sunshine.

Branson loves his baby sister.

Irelynn dressed herself.  Perfect for summertime in Las Vegas.  :)

June 17th
Our neighbor was walking along the street and heard buzzing.  A beehive formed on the house of our neighbor who lives across the street!

There must have been a thousand bees!  And the crazy thing... the hive disappeared a few hours later - almost as quickly as it arrived.
June 19th
Father's Day
Brian is most certainly an amazing husband and father who deserves to be honored on more than just Father's Day.

We bought him a whole season of one of his favorite TV shows.

Daddy loves a big breakfast!

He loves a big dinner, too!  We Reeve's are big happy eaters.  Happy Father's Day, babe.

Natalya in Alice in Wonderland
Musical Theater

Natalya thoroughly enjoys participating in Musical Theater.  This year she played the part of Alice in Alice in Wonderland.  She worked hard memorizing the script and practicing her parts.  She had to sing solos as well as sing with the cast.  She learned stage directions, choreographed dance numbers, how to use a cordless mic, and how to keep going even when something unplanned occurs.  Despite a rough dress rehearsal, they pulled it off for the actual show.

She had another great experience this year!  Here's a look at her performance...

Waiting their turn on stage in their dressing room.

We sat in the balcony, but there wasn't a bad seat in the house!

Natalya singing a solo, standing atop a giant book.

Drifting off to "Wonderland"

Natalya with the White Rabbit during the song, "I'm Late!"

My favorite line is when Natalya tells the flowers, "I am NOT a weed!  And just who do you think you are?"

The Caterpillar and the Cheshire Cat

Natalya with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare during the "A Very Merry Unbirthday" song.

Wake up, Alice!

Congratulations on a job well done, Sweetheart.

Take a bow!

She loves being on stage!

Grandma and Grandaddy were very proud of their granddaughter!

Natalya with Hannah - one of her best friends from school.  Hannah is on one of the dance teams at Bunker Dance center.

Natalya's 1st Grade and Kindergarten teachers!
Mrs. Lotito and Mrs. Lee

Branson is in the picture - just hiding behind Dad's leg.

Playing Catch Up - JUNE 10th 2011

Living in Las Vegas definitely has its perks. We reap the benefits of living in a vacation spot! And we love visitors...

We got to spend a couple of days with Angie and Jared! Jared had a medical conference in town, so they planned a mini vacation around their trip.  I'm so glad they took some time to spend with us.

Angie was like a celebrity at our house! The kids all enjoyed her attention. Irelynn still asks about her - and named a Barbie after "Auntie Angie".

Angie and I were able to sit in the courtroom during Brian's trial with the Federal Trade Commission. He did an excellent job! It was my first time witnessing him in trial and I was grateful for the opportunity. Judge Pro even let me bring Annika into the courtroom. During a brief recess, we took Angie back into Judge Pro's chambers. (Brian clerked for Judge Pro several years ago!)

Angie also got to come with me to Natalya's dress rehearsal for Alice in Wonderland. The dress rehearsal was a train wreck, but it was still so nice to have Angie participate in something that means so much to Natalya.

Branson loved playing Angry Birds on Uncle Jared's phone.  It's an unhealthy obsession.

We all got to go see Kung Fu Panda 2 together.  It was an adorable movie!  We also had IHOP - the kids' favorite restaurant.

Thanks, Jared and Angie for the visit!  We hope you return for another medical conference again soon :)

Playing Catch Up - JUNE 6th 2011

June 6th, 2011
We started our month with a startling surprise! While I was distracted with the other kids, Irelynn found a pair of scissors up stairs and gave herself a haircut!  She's the first of our children to cut her own hair.  I wanted to be angry, but she looked at me and said, I made myself so so beautiful.  I told her that she was already "so so beautiful" and that cutting hair was a mommy's job.  Then she repeated something we've said a hundred times: We only cut paper.

Here's a look at her new pig tail...
You may not be able to tell from this picture, but she also thinned out her bangs.  I had to create a new hair line, pulling new hair forward, to cover her shorter bangs. (2 inches shorter!)

These are just a few locks of hair I found on the floor.  Her hair is now 4 and 1/2 inches shorter.

I know I've said it before, but there is honestly never a dull moment at our house!

Playing Catch Up - MAY 2011

Our computer memory got so full that it stopped functioning. I couldn't do anything. Not even save a new Word document! In fact, I had to delete programs to create just enough memory to print. Finally, I bought an external hard drive and began transferring my computer's memory to it. Now that it has enough memory to function, I have some serious catching up to do!

May 2011
The kids finished school with a bang!  They each were so blessed with wonderful teachers.  Below is Branson's pre-school graduation.  He is very ready for Kindergarten.  I can't believe how quickly it happened.

Branson with his buddy, Andrew.

And his other buddy, Ashton.

Ms. Kristi is an exceptional teacher! We were so lucky to have her.

Left to right: Ashton, Andrew, Isaac, Ms. Kristi, Breyden, Branson. (Zech was also part of his pre-school experience, but moved to California. They missed him!)

Annika looked so cute at his graduation, I thought I'd take some snapshots of her when we got home.

She has the most kissable cheeks!

Planting Seeds
When Grandad and Granny Kim were here in April, they planted tomato plant seeds with our oldest three.  They loved watching their little plants grow.

They finally grew to a point where we had to transplant them into a bigger pot.  They have continued to grow and now stand about 2 feet tall!  In fact yesterday I asked a friend, Tammy Felton, to put our tomato plant in her backyard garden where it can grow large enough to produce.  And when it does, we will visit and pick our very own tomatoes.

A few days after Branson's graduation, we left for Disneyland and the beach! Since I've already journaled about our vacation experience, I'll move on. :)

I put on a baby shower right BEFORE our Disneyland trip, and a bridal shower immediately AFTER Disneyland.

Baby shower at my house for Carlie Noa.  I love making diaper cakes!!  They're so fun.
Carlie Noa just a month before delivery.

My dear friend, Jeri Malan, and I put together a bridal shower for Kelly Andrews.  We decided on a brunch - and it was a full house!

This is Kelly opening my gift.  We all laughed when she pulled a toilet bowl scrubber and plunger out of a kitchen garbage can!  (I promise the gift was more than that.  I gave her a bunch of stuff you need when you're first married.  Like nails, screws, lightbulbs, tools, Windex, sponges, extension cords, etc...)
