Busy, Busy Annika!

Annika is such a little sweetie.  Her life is progressing rapidly and sometimes I can't believe another month has passed.

The kids recently taught her to high-5.  And just this week Natalya was rolling her arms saying, "lolly, lolly, lolly POP!" and clapped her hands on the word pop.  She was trying to get the little kids to blink on the word pop.  Annika was observing then began copying her.  Now Annika prides herself in saying and doing the motions to, "lolly, lolly, lolly POP" just like the big kids!

Annika loves to talk!  She says little words like, hi, bye, mama, dada, night-night, no-no-no (while pointing her finger), whee! (every time she gets pushed on the tricycle), num-num (for food), and the newest addition to her vocabulary is lolly. Annika pronounces it, "la-la". Natalya and Branson were so impressed with themselves when they taught her the lolly pop game.

I put her high chair away when I bought a tray for her Bumbo.  At only 17 pounds she still fits in the Bumbo - and she likes it way more than she ever liked her high chair.  Her facial expression here is priceless.  It's like she's saying, "What.  I'm having a snack."

Annika found a cubby!  Her new favorite place in our house is behind the couch.  I keep pillows back there in case we want to get comfy on the couch.  Well she thinks it her fort or something.

Haha!  She reminds me of Kilroy!

March 9th
Busy, busy Annika dumped out all the baby doll toys and sat in the carrier.  She fit!

Is Daddy home yet???

She really wanted to see out the window.  Maybe next year.  :)

Annika didn't think she needed a nap.  So she cried for a little while then fell asleep sitting up - making it perfectly clear that she was not giving in.
My mom used to sing to me, "Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling, My Son John," who went to bed with, "one sock off and the other sock on."

Who needs a room full of toys when dirt and rocks are in my own front yard...

Like all our kids enjoyed at this age, putting pebbles down the water cover is sooo much fun.  It's funny how no one taught them to do that - but they all figured it out.

Busy, busy Annika is such a delight.
I love you, baby.

Annika Turned ONE

February 8th, 2012
Our baby is already ONE!! It's amazing how fast time passes when you have a big, busy family.

It was one year ago that I was headed to the hospital in a hurry.  By the time I got there I was already a 7 1/2 and she was anxious to arrive!  When she was born, they put her tiny 5 pound body in my arms and that's when we decided her name would be Annika - which meant graceful and merciful.  Such a dainty little body deserved an equally sweet, delicate name.  Today she is a whopping 17 pounds and still a bundle of joy!

Annika loves playing with balls and she looks great in purple.  So her birthday party was appropriately-themed...

 She's so pretty.

At her party were Grandaddy and Grandma, the Daniel's and the Crafton's.  The Daniel's are our dearest neighbors, and the Crafton's were perfect to have over because they made everyone happy - Kailee is Natalya's friend, Tyler is Branson's friend, Sadie is Irelynn's friend and Brian and I are friends with Brice and Lindsey.  :)

 A pizza picnic

Annika wasn't sure what to do with her cupcake.  After careful examination, she decided it was safe...

And she was our first kid to actually destroy her cupcake on her 1st birthday.  We're so proud.  Haha!

Annika is no monster when it comes to opening her presents.  She very carefully and deliberately tore open each one.

I think she likes her new tent.

A great way to end her birthday...
a grandparent Oreo kiss!!

Happy Birthday, Sweet heart.

My Little Ballerina!

February 7th, 2012
Irelynn recently began her first ballet and tap class at our local community center.  She has been such a trooper supporting her big brother and sister during their lessons/classes/games, that I'm glad she gets to have an activity all her own.

Irelynn and her little friend Eva before their first class began.

Here are the big brothers Aiden and Branson passing the time playing "Where's My Water" game on my phone while their sisters participate in their class.  (I love that out of the whole building they chose to play in a little cubby.)

Favorite Place

February 4th, 2012
Whenever I'm holding Annika near the bathtub she tries to nose-dive out of my arms and into the tub!  It's her favorite place.  And her favorite time of day is bath time!  She loves to splash, kick, and squeal.

Napping Place

January 27th, 2012
Annika found a perfect place for a nap... the laundry.

Sleuthing

January 16th, 2012
Natalya is a regular Nancy Drew!  She loves solving the toughest crimes.  One day she thought it necessary to open her own detective agency.  For only $1/day you could hire her services as a private investigator.  Thanks to Natalya, I found several missing items from my kitchen, including an illusive block of cheese ;)

The Dishwasher

January 6th, 2012
Annika loves the dishwasher as well as most kitchen appliances.  I think she'll love being mom one day!

Whenever I'm doing dishes, she makes a dash for the dishwasher.  I try to close it before she reaches it.  I don't always succeed!

Thank goodness she's only 17 pounds.  :)

Christmas 2011

Previous years I made our kids wake us up before going down stairs Christmas morning.  That way, I could get the camera out, turn on the lights, turn on Christmas music and get into proper filming position.  Then I yelled, "OK!  Come on down!" and catch their responses to the splendor that awaited them downstairs.

This year I realized that I was robbing them of the magic of Christmas!  One of my favorite memories as a kid is darting downstairs Christmas morning to see if Santa came.  Then I'd run back upstairs to wake everyone up.  I wanted them to experience that same joy.

This year, mom and dad followed our kiddles down the stairs.  Here's what they saw...

The note below reads:

Merry Christmas!
Love, The Reeve Kiddles
signed... Branson, Irelynn, Natalya, Annika (baby pookie)
feed the reindeer

SANTA CAME!!
He used our magic key, ate his cookies, and drank the milk.  He even fed the carrots to the reindeer.

Our kids must have been on the good list.  Spark Razors and Squinkies for everyone!  And one super-cool individual toy each.

The Angry Birds Chapters...
Branson has a slightly unhealthy obsession with Angry Birds.  I fed his obsession this Christmas with giant cardboard cutouts that we used to decorate his bedroom.  (They were a part of a WalMart display.  I left my name and number with the store manager and asked them to call me when they were ready to take it down.  They did!  And now he has the coolest Angry Birds bedroom ever.)

Strike a pose in your new sunglasses!

Who said soccer can't be glamorous?

All Irelynn wanted for Christmas was her own make-up.  5 dollars later she was the happiest little girl I'd ever seen!

Branson had a very Angry Birds Christmas.

Santa filled her stocking with a fridge toy and baby food :)

Bippidi Boppidi Boo!  Disappear until next year!
~Merry Christmas~
