"Honey, pack your bags!"
Brian surprised the whole family with a mini vacation. He told me not to plan anything for Saturday and to pack the family for an overnight.
Friday afternoon we drove to Lake Las Vegas where we stayed at the amazing Ravella Resort, formerly the Ritz Carlton! We had a fabulous time from the moment we arrived until the drive home.
(You'd think by half of our family pictures that we're incapable of taking a serious picture.)
The resort was beautiful! The kids were in awe - so were we.
Looking out on the gardens
We went exploring. When we turned the corner and saw this chandelier, the kids freaked out. So we took a few minutes and just danced under it. Haha!
The kids ran around the garden and did cartwheels across the grass.
The resort shows movies on the lake. We didn't stay to watch, but we had fun just running around.
We broke in the beds by leaping from one to the other.
And ordered room service for dessert!
I couldn't believe how facinated the big kids were with Annika's little crib. They kept acting like babies so they could climb in it.
We spent time at the pool and had a great time,
except for Annika who wasn't feeling well :(
There was a private lagoon on the lake - which turned out to be way more fun than the pool!
We rediscovered the simple joy of playing in the sand,
and rolling down a hill.
I am so grateful to my sweet husband for seizing the day and surprising us all with this fun get-away. It was the perfect last minute vacation before school started just two days later.
Thanks, Babe!!
Thanks, Babe!!
