An Arizona Retreat

Every year Brian's office has a retreat in Phoenix, Arizona, the main office location of his firm.  We anxiously anticipate this little excursion each spring because our kids have a great time with Grandma and we have a great time without much responsibility!

This year we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch.  It was a beautiful resort.  Unfortunately Brian had to spend most of his time in seminars.  So we looked forward to dinner together Friday night and a few hours of free time on Saturday.  We shopped, caught a movie, and shared a meal with friends.  Then the weekend was over.  A whirlwind, but so worth it.

The hotel.

The balcony off our room.

Annika got to come along on this trip with us! She was an excellent little traveler and slept most of the flight.  She was such a pleasure during our stay.  Annika hardly fussed and was the center of attention everywhere we went!  (She will smile at anyone she makes eye contact with.)

A friend of ours got Annika to belly laugh!  It was priceless.

Annika was tuckered out from all that socializing. (So was I.) We turned in early and enjoyed a long, quiet sleep. I think we slept in past 7am!

Brian and I thoroughly enjoyed our time together.  It felt like time slowed down a little - the sign of a successful weekend.  :)
