On Saturday March 19th, Annika did her first real smiles! She's smiled many times before, but not while making a connection with someone's eyes. But on Saturday morning I held her out in front of me (just a few inches away from my face) and said her name. She looked right at me and a big smile spread across her face! I quickly got Brian's attention and tried it again... she smiled a second time! I transferred Annika to Daddy's arms and let him try. Although I couldn't see Annika's face from my perspective, I could see Brian's expression when she smiled again. Brian's face lit up like the 4th of July and he let out laugh that sounded more like an, "Ohhhh!"
That moment was priceless.
